I ordered two custom-stitched Imperia outfits in February and initially had a very positive experience. The company was responsive, kept me updated, and worked with me on the measurements and stitching style. I was genuinely excited to receive my order.

Unfortunately, what arrived was disappointing. The outfits were a completely different color from the light pink shown in the model photos—they were beige instead. Oddly, one of the scarves included was pink, making the mismatch even more confusing. Additionally, the lining that was supposed to be attached to the jacket came separately, made of low-quality material and with an entirely different neckline. The trousers were not wide and flared as pictured either. Ironically, an unstitched Imperia outfit we ordered separately was the correct light pink, highlighting just how off the stitched versions were.

When I contacted the company about these issues, I felt completely dismissed. They insisted the colors were the same and downplayed the discrepancies. It felt like I was being gaslit.

If you don’t want the hassle of correcting major issues, I would strongly advise against purchasing this outfit.

I’m giving it 1 star solely because the design itself is beautiful—despite the poor quality and misleading presentation.

My initial experience after buying this dress was great. They remained in communication with me throughout the stitching process after I purchased the dress. However, I finally receive the dress, and it was not at all what I was expecting. The color of the dress was not the same as the picture on the website; it was a lot darker. The fabric was very cheap and thin. The top was not at all the same as the one in the picture. I was expecting to receive a cream tank top with thin straps and low square neckline. I received a top with a high round neckline and sleeves that extended to my shoulders similar to a halter top. The pants did not flare like the ones in the picture and were also stitched badly. The stitching did not fit me correctly despite being in communication with them about my measurements multiple times throughout the stitching process. Upon receiving my dress and trying it on, I contacted them and demanded a partial refund. I sent them pictures of my dress and compared it with their pictures on the website. They continuously tried to argue with me saying that it is the same dress that was on the website. When I mentioned that the sleeves of my top were not the exact as the website, they said that I had to ask for thin straps when buying the dress. I have never heard of anything more absurd because if there were different options for sleeve types, they should have included an option on the website when purchasing. Additionally, if there were several options for sleeves and I didn't ask for a specific sleeve, they should have stitched with the default option which is what was pictured on the website. When I purchased this dress, I was expecting to receive the exact merchandise that was pictured on the website. They cannot change the dress as they see fit and turn it around on me saying I did not request for it. Despite all of these negative experiences with Akbar, I only requested for a partial refund because I recognize that the dress I bought was stitched. I did not ask for a full refund, which is what I should be receiving for the quality of the dress that I received. I only asked for a partial refund, and they do not want to give it to me because they claim that the dress is "totally fine top exactly same" and that it is "my fault" for not confirming everything (even though they did not state anywhere that there were options for alternative styles). That was my initial experience buying from Akbar, and I will not be buying again. This company advertises dresses, but do not have the product and fabric to produce the dresses as they are advertised on their website. Everything from dress quality to customer service experience was terrible, and I recommend that no one buys from them.
